The Appalachian League saw impressive gains in attendance last year. Of the 17 leagues under the umbrella of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues, the Appalachian League showed the second best increase in attendance of all the leagues versus their respective 2007 figures. A total of 317,058 fans attended 314 Appalachian League regular season games in 2008, which represented a 9.9 percent increase over a 2007 season that saw the Appy draw 288,582 patrons in 282 openings. Only the Double-A Texas League, with an 11.2 percent attendance increase versus 2007, outperformed the Appalachian League.
Hopefully there aren't as many rainouts in Princeton in 2009 as there were this year.
