The Rays will continue their rookie-level Appalachian League team in Princeton, WV, at least through the end of the 2010 season. They have signed a two-year renewal contract with Princeton Baseball Association, Inc., the corporate operator of baseball in Princeton. Princeton has been an affiliate of the Rays since September 27, 1996, and this coming summer will mark their 13th consecutive season as a Rays' minor league farm team.
"We are certainly excited to continue our long relationship with Tampa Bay," said Princeton General Manager Jim Holland while making the announcement today. "My favorite memory in Princeton this past season was the large enthusiastic crowds we had, even at our final home game. Then to follow that with the Rays going to the World Series, it certainly gives us some great building blocks to already start getting excited about 2009."
