The Charlotte Stone Crabs have released their 2009 promotional schedule that includes five fireworks nights, several national entertainment acts and a number of theme nights during the team’s inaugural season that opens with their much-anticipated Opening Night on April 9. The team’s first-ever game at Charlotte Sports Park will feature an appearance by Hall of Fame shortstop and team owner Cal Ripken, Jr. as well as a magnet schedule giveaway and fireworks in what promises to be a spectacular event for the community. Only a limited quantity of tickets are still available for Opening Night, and the only way to guarantee a seat for the game is to purchase one of the team’s Season Seat packages that starts at just $80.
The team’s slogan "Come to Play," also rings true when looking at the rest of the lineup of events for their first year in Charlotte County. National entertainment acts like Zooperstars, America’s Best Frisbee Dogs, Birdzerk and Myron Noodleman will make appearances at Charlotte Sports Park, and several theme nights like "Superhero Night" and "Halloween in July" will also take place throughout the summer.
Fans can also enjoy weekly promotions that include Dollar Dog Nights on Mondays, Seniors Eat Free on Tuesdays, Chick-Fil-A Winning Wednesdays (free coupons from Chick-Fil-A with a Stone Crabs win) and Thirsty Thursdays.
A special pre-sale for individual tickets will take place at the Charlotte Sports Park box office at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, and the general on-sale for individual tickets will begin on Monday, March 23, when fans can purchase tickets in person at the box office, online at ticketmaster.com or on the phone by calling 941-206-3511.
