4/11: Today's Games

Durham Bulls vs. Norfolk Tides 5:05 EST
Starting for Durham: LHP David Price or RHP Wade Davis
Notes: Not sure what they'll do with the rainout. They could push everyone back a day, or just go with Wade Davis, today's originally scheduled starter.

Montgomery Biscuits vs. West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx 8:05 EST
Starting for Montgomery: RHP Heath Rollins
Notes: The Rays will finish their suspended game before the regularly scheduled one, and then play a 7-inning game.

Charlotte Stone Crabs vs. Fort Myers Miracle 7:05 EST
Starting for Charlotte: LHP David Newmann
Notes: Newmann will make his first-ever professional start after being drafted way back in 2007.

Bowling Green Hot Rods @ Hickory Crawdads 5:00 EST and TBD
Starting for Bowling Green: RHP Shane Dyer and Frank De Los Santos
Notes: The Hot Rods will play a doubleheader after yesterday's rainout.

    Can't wait to see Newmann pitch professionally tonight in person.. it's been a long time coming for him. Awesome guy, I wish him the best of luck.

    Newmann pitched at Texas A&M before the Rays took him in the 4th round of the '07 draft. His 2007 A&M stats: 11-1, 2.81 ERA, 105.2 IP, 102/50 K/BB, 3 HR's.

    I met him and talked to him quite a bit, not in an interview kind of way though. I was sitting in the dugout taking pictures of him pitching and he came over and started pitching. He has to be one of the nicest players I've ever met. How he missed playing last year (tore his ACL on the last day of spring training) is heartbreaking, but hopefully he does great this year. We talked about baseball and a little about life and stuff, so that was cool.
