The Charlotte Stone Crabs have announced that recording artist and former American Idol contestant Antonella Barba will sing the National Anthem for the team’s inaugural game on April 9th. Barba was a semi-finalist in the sixth season of the show, making it all the way to the Top 16. Since her time on American Idol, she has made numerous television appearances and currently has a reality show in development.
Due to the Opening Day festivities, the scheduled game time has changed from 7:05 p.m. to 7:35 p.m., but gates will still open at 6:00 p.m. With the updated start time, fans will have more time to tour the newly-renovated Charlotte Sports Park and enjoy the Opening Day activities.
General admission grass berm tickets are still available for the team’s first-ever game at only $5 per ticket, which fans can purchase at the Charlotte Sports Park box office, on the phone at 941-206-HITS or online at ticketmaster.com. In addition to the team’s debut, Opening Day will also feature an appearance by Cal Ripken, Jr., giveaways and many other festivities.
No comments? Really? If ever there was a minor league promotion worth attending, this would be it. Young guys don't read this site?
