Joseph Cruz Deactivated
Some curious news from Stacy Long: Joseph Cruz has been deactived(technically placed on the Hudson Valley roster) after just one start in Bowling Green. I'm not sure why Cruz was taken off the roster, because it's not like he was overmatched in his first start. Perhaps this signals that Nick Barnese is ready to join the Hod Rods rotation, and perhaps the plan all along was for Cruz to just be a placeholder. But even then, it's not like Barnese was the one added for Cruz; outfielder Justin Reynolds joined the Hot Rods. And Cruz doesn't seem hurt, because otherwise he'd have been placed on the DL. We'll see what happens.

Interesting, and disappointing. He was scheduled to start Saturday according to the PR I got: "Saturday, April 18 v. Kannapolis (1:05 PM CT) -- TBA v. Joe Cruz (0-0, 4.90)"
ReplyDeleteApparently the Hot Rods doubled his ERA and thought he wasn't any good (2.45 x 2 = 4.90)?
