The Charlotte Stone Crabs have reported the following transactions today: INF Diogenes Luis was sent to Extended Spring Training; INF Matt Hall was added to the roster from Montgomery; RHP Jose Mejias was transferred to Hudson Valley (A-); RHP Rayner Oliveros was added to the roster from Hudson Valley.
Luis appeared in two games for the Stone Crabs going 0-3 with 1 strikeout. He was signed by the organization in 2006 and spent time with the DSL Rays and Princeton.
Hall began the season with the Stone Crabs before being promoted to Montgomery on 4/13. He played in one game for Montgomery going 0-1 before being sent back to Charlotte. He was 1 for 5 on the year hitting .200 with 3 strikeouts. Hall was drafted by the Tampa Bay organization in the 10th round of the 2008 draft and played for Hudson Valley (R) and Vero Beach (A+) last season.
Mejias has appeared in three games for the Stone Crabs pitching 4.2 innings with an ERA of 1.93. He has given up 1 run this season off 5 hits while striking out 3 and walking none. Mejias was recieved by Tampa Bay during the AAA phase of the 2007 Rule 5 Draft and spent the 2008 season with Columbus (A).
Oliveros started the 2009 season with Montgomery going 1-0 with a 9.00 ERA. He has appeared in two games, giving up 8 runs on 9 hits in 8 innings worked while striking out 8 and walking 3.
