The Charlotte Stone Crabs baseball team returns home on Friday, May 1, for a two-game weekend set against the Fort Myers Miracle (Twins) at Charlotte Sports Park featuring the unveiling of their new mascot, a fireworks display and other promotions during the weekend.
The Stone Crabs begin their homestand on Friday, May 1, with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. and first pitch at 7:05 p.m. The team will unveil their new mascot to the public and host a birthday bash that includes free birthday cake at the concession stands. Fans will also have the chance to “Name the Mascot” by filling out an entry form at the ballpark. The name of the mascot and winner of the contest will then be announced during the team’s next homestand on May 7.
Also on Friday, Stone Crabs players will don pink home jerseys for “Pink in the Park” presented by Advanced Imaging to promote breast cancer awareness. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game, and all proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. After the game, players will sign the jerseys, and the winners will be announced.
The teams continue the series on Saturday, May 2, at 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. A fireworks display will fill the sky immediately following the game (subject to approval from the Charlotte County Fire Marshall), and Saturday also marks the first annual Stone Crabs Scout Night at the ballpark. Boy Scouts from around the area can purchase group tickets to the game and enjoy a sleepover on the field at Charlotte Sports Park on Saturday night.
Tickets are available starting at just $5 at the Charlotte Sports Park box office, on the phone at 941-206-HITS or online at ticketmaster.com.
