[Via email from the team.] The doubleheader between the Charlotte Stone Crabs and St. Lucie Mets scheduled for 5:00 p.m. tonight has been postponed due to heavy rains in the area and unsafe field conditions. The game will be made up tomorrow as part of a doubleheader starting at 5:00 p.m. with gates opening at 4:00 p.m.
Charlotte and St. Lucie will play a pair of seven-inning games tomorrow with the first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m. A 30-minute interval will follow the end of the first game before the second game begins.
Those who had tickets for tonight's game are eligible to exchange their tickets for any other Stone Crabs 2009 regular season game, including tomorrow's doubleheader, subject to availability. Fans with tickets for tonight's postponed doubleheader or tomorrow's regularly scheduled game can stay for both games of the doubleheader. Tickets are available starting at just $6 at the Charlotte Sports Park box office, on the phone at 941-206-HITS or online at stonecrabsbaseball.com.
Mother Nature wins again. Between the stalled cold front and the approaching non-tropical low from Cuba, South Florida will be very wet all week. I think all games will be questionable through Thursday-Friday.
