The Stone Crabs spent the week jockeying with the Fort Myers Miracle for first place in the FSL South Division. At the weeks end, the Stone Crabs are tied for first with the Miracle. The Stone Crabs went 5-2 on the week improving their record to 16-10 on the season. The two losses of the week both came at the hands of Fort Myers and the Stone Crabs swept the Jupiter Hammerheads on the road. Hitting Leaders: Cody Cipriano took over as the team hitting leader, raising his average to .317 with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs and 11 RBI’s on the year and is second in the league with a slugging pct of .567. Matt Fields had two home runs this week moving into a tie for second in the league in HR’s. Pedro Powell leads the team in stolen bases with 10 and is tied for fourth in the league.
Pitching Leaders: Darin Downs leads the league with 5 wins and is second in the league with a 1.34 ERA. David Newmann leads the team in strikeouts with 26.
Team Stats: The Stone Crabs have moved into fourth place in the FSL in hitting with a .256 team batting average. They are tied with Fort Myers for the lead in RBI’s with 117 and are fourth in the league in stolen bases with 36. The Stone Crabs lowered the team ERA to 3.53 and are ranked fifth in the league in strikeouts with 195.

Already in 1st and facing Palm Beach at 9-17 and Jupiter at 13-13 next week. If they haven't expanded their lead by your next WIR, something has gone seriously wrong.
