Chris Nowak’s solo home run in the fifth inning was the only run scored for either team as the Durham Bulls won their fifth game in six tries with a 1-0 victory over Rochester on Monday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The game featured only eight hits and was completed in one hour and 56 minutes, the fastest game of the year at the DBAP.
Wade Davis (4-1) picked up the victory pitching six and two-thirds shutout innings allowing two hits and a walk while striking out 3. LHP Brian Duensing (2-3) took the loss allowing a run on six hits in seven innings of work while striking out five. Winston Abreu picked up his fifth save with a perfect ninth.
The Bulls and Red Wings complete their series on Tuesday afternoon at 1 PM at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
