Hellickson and Barnese Updates

Hellickson will start a throwing program Monday with hopes that he'll return later this month. He'll throw from 45 feet and from flat ground Monday before working up.

"The target date we have is May 23," manager Billy Gardner said.

And on Barnese:

Pitcher Nick Barnese threw three innings in an extended spring training game Saturday, farm director Mitch Lukevics said, though it's not certain when Barnese might leave and join one of Tampa Bay's affiliates.

"We like to get our guys up to five innings, if possible, before they go out," Lukevics said. "Right now, he's still in spring training mode."
