The bullpen highlighted the week by turning out an awesome performance in their last 3 appearances of the week, going 11 shut-out innings.
Hitting Leaders: Cody Cipriano continues to pace the offense with a .325 batting average that is ranked third in the league. Matt Fields is second in the league in home runs with 11 and trails the leader Mike Stanton of Jupiter by 1 homer. Fields has recorded 41 RBI’s on the season, leading the team and the league. Shawn O’Malley is currently fifth in the league in stolen bases with 14 swipes.
Pitching Leaders: Darin Downs and Jeremy Hall are tied for the team lead in wins with 5. Alex Cobb leads the starters in a 2.65 ERA. Matt Gorgen continues to dominate out of the pen with a 0.36 ERA, only allowing 1 earned run all season. David Newmann is second in the league in strikeouts with 57.
Team Stats: The Stone Crabs raised their team batting average to .242 and improved to eighth in the league. They are second in the league in triples with 15 and are third in the league in steals with 61. The team ERA fell to 3.58 but remained sixth in the league. The pitching staff has given up 169 runs on the season while striking out 366 (fourth in the league) and walking 109 (second fewest).
