  1. Where is Jacob Partridge? Hasn't he signed?

  2. I'm assuming he has indeed signed but just hasn't been assigned to a club yet. They have roster limits so they might want him to get acclimated to pro baseball through batting practice or simulated games before they put him on the GCL roster.

  3. Jacob Partridge did sign and is headed to the GCL in Port Charlotte this Thursday.

  5. Which paper in Florida actually reports results of the Tampa Bay Rays rookie team. I'm from Spokane...trying to follow Jake's success but can't seem to find any news anywhere. Supposedly had his first outing last night.

  6. If you mean the GCL Rays, their home games are at the complex in Pt. Charlotte, but I've never seen any coverage in the local paper. Nick gets out to some games, and that's the only coverage I've seen. Games are usually at noon. You can follow each days games on the sidebar, just go down to GCL. If you click on the game it'll take you to the box score.

  7. Yup, the GCL is under-reported because it's almost as much(if not moreso) about integrating players to pro baseball or to the country if they're from another part of the world and developing them than it is the 9 innings they play on the field each day.

On the sidebar you can also find links to the GCL Rays stat page, roster, and more. Jacob Partridge isn't yet listed, but once he appears in a game he should be added to the milb.com database.

  8. Yeah, unfortunately the only news you will see in Florida newspapers (the Sarasota Herald-Tribune has it) is the previous days' results, the days upcoming games, and the standings. You will almost never see a story about a game from a major source unless something big happens (no hitter, major rehab stint, etc).

I will be at the GCL games on Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday's game against the O's being in the stadium. Look for pictures and hopefully a story soon.

  10. I think you'll see him at Princeton this season. With a chance of a promotion to Hudson Valley. Nice walk rate, strikeouts need to improve, I see him as a reliever as he moves up.
