A pair of Hudson Valley players will miss time due to injuries sustained on the road earlier this week. That doesn't sound good for Ayers, whatever a latissimus dorsi is. I hereby nominate Omar David Bencomo for promotion from the P-Rays until Ayers returns.
Outfielder Chris Murrill left Monday's game in Williamsport after injuring his shoulder while diving for a ball. [Hudson Valley manager Brady] Williams said the injury was likely a sprain that will sideline him for the coming days.
"I'd say he's probably a week, two weeks away," the manager said.
Two nights later in Williamsport, starting pitcher Kyle Ayers injured his latissimus dorsi, a muscle in the back during the fourth inning.
"He pulled his lat or tore something in there," Williams said. "He's going to miss at least a couple starts."
