The Durham Bulls have placed RHP Andy Sonnanstine on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to July 7, 2009.Calvin Medlock has been assigned to the Durham Bulls from the Hudson Valley Renegades.
The DSL Rays have activated CF Cesar Guillen from the restricted list.
The Rays have signed 2B Starlin Rodriguez and assigned him to the DSL Rays. He's a switch hitting 5'9", 160 pound 19 year-old. He went 1-4 with a run scored in his first game yesterday.
The VSL Rays have signed free agent RHP Guillermo Salinas. He's a 6'1", 180 pound 20 year-old. He pitched 2.0 innings today with 2 strikeouts. The last I can find him appearing professionally was in 2007 for the Arizona League Brewers, where he had a 4.85 ERA with one save in 15 games. In 2006 he went 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA in 14 appearances in his first professional season, also with the Arizona League Brewers.
