[Via email from the Montgomery Biscuits' broadcaster Jon Laaser.]The Tampa Bay Rays have amended the previous announced moves affecting Double-A Montgomery which will take effect prior to Sunday’s game with Carolina:
In addition to the promotion of RHP Rayner Oliveros to Durham (AAA), RHP Heath Rollins has also been promoted to Durham (AAA) [22 + 2].
Meanwhile, LHP Alex Torres will not be activated on the Biscuits roster until Monday (August 30th) when he is scheduled to make his first start against Carolina.
Without Torres’ activation, and the promotions of Oliveros and Rollins, the Biscuits are currently two players shy of the Southern League maximum of 24 active players with two players (Neal Frontz, Darin Downs) currently on the Disabled List.
