Mother Nature struck again on Wednesday night, forcing the postponement of game two between the Hot Rods and Asheville Tourists. After a 2:22 minute delay before game one on Tuesday, heavy late afternoon rains left McCormick Field unplayable on Wednesday. It is the sixth time in six games on the road trip that the Hot Rods have had some portion of a game impacted by rain (three delays, one early completion, one postponement, and one cancellation).
The teams will play a doubleheader on Thursday night in Asheville. Bowling Green will send RHP Nick Barnese (5-4, 2.30) in game one before countering with LHP Matt Moore (6-4, 2.73) in game two. Both contests will be seven inning games and are scheduled to begin at 4:35 PM CDT. You can follow the action with Tom Gauthier on 1340 WBGN and www.bghotrods.com beginning at 4:20 PM CDT.
The Hot Rods return home to begin an eight-game home stand on Saturday, August 8 at 7:05 PM. The first 1,000 fans into that night’s game against Greenville (Boston Red Sox) will received a replica of Bowling Green Ballpark courtesy of BB&T. For tickets, visit www.bghotrods.com or head to the Hot Rods ticket office at the corner of 8th Avenue and Center Street at Bowling Green Ballpark.
