The Game: The Charlotte Stone Crabs picked up their sixth shut-out of the season by defeating the Jupiter Hammerheads 4-0 in game one of Wednesday’s doubleheader at Charlotte Sports Park.
The Stone Crabs broke the scoreless tied by scoring all four runs of the game in the second inning. Henry Wrigley led off the inning with a solo home run, his sixth on the year. Shawn Williams then singled to right and advanced to second after Nevin Ashley drew a walk. Reid Fronk followed with a two run double to center. Fronk later scored on a single by John Matulia to give the Stone Crabs the 4-0 margin of victory.
Jake McGee, Jesse Darcy and Tommy Rafferty combined to throw the seven inning complete game shut-out. McGee got the start, pitching 2 innings allowing 2 hits while striking out 2 and walking 2. Darcy followed with 4 no hit innings striking out 2 and walking 3. Rafferty pitched the final frame and allowed a hit and recorded a strike out. Elih Villanueva was the losing pitcher for Jupiter.

A Look Ahead: The Stone Crabs and Hammerheads play game two of the doubleheader. Jeremy Hall (13-7) will face Jeff Allison (5-9).
