Minor Moves: Morse, Mejias

The Tampa Bay Rays have made the following moves affecting the roster of Double-A Montgomery prior to Thursday’s game against Birmingham:

LHP Ryan Morse returned from Charlotte (A+), RHP Jose Mejias reassigned to Charlotte (A+) [24 + 2].

Morse returns to the Biscuits and to the Biscuits’ rotation. He will make the start for Montgomery on Sunday against Huntsville, filling the rotation spot of Darin Downs, who was place on the Disabled List on 8/18. Mejias did not appear for the Biscuits and returns to the Stone Crabs.

The corresponding moves keep the Biscuits at the Southern League maximum of 24 active players. Two players (Downs, Neal Frontz) are currently on the Disabled List.
