LHP Alexander Torres, acquired in the Scott Kazmir trade, has been assigned to the Montgomery Biscuits. [Edit: Torres will not be activated on the Biscuits roster until Monday (August 30th) when he is scheduled to make his first start against Carolina.]The Charlotte Stone Crabs have placed RHRP Justin Garcia on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to August 25, 2009.
The Stone Crabs also placed OF Emeel Salem on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to August 25, 2009.
