The Game: The Hudson Valley Renegades fell to the Oneonta Tigers 3-1 on Monday night at Damaschke Field. The Renegades scored first in the first inning. Chris Murrill led off the game with a walk and later advanced to second on a ground out by Tyler Bortnick. Eli Sonoqui followed with a line drive single to score Murrill and give the Renegades a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers tied the game in the second inning. Alexis Espinoza struck a solo home run to center field to tie the game.
The game remained tied until the Tigers delivered back to back one run innings. Oneonta took the lead in the sixth inning. Carmelo Jaime singled to first and later scored on an RBI triple by Michael Rockett. Then in the seventh the Tigers picked up an insurance run on an RBI single by Matthew Mansilla to give them the win.
Kyle Lobstein suffered the loss with a 6 inning outing, allowing 2 runs on 3 innings while striking out 9 and walking 2. Angel Chapa pitched the final two innings with 1 run on 3 hits and allowing a walk. Michael Torrealba was the winning pitcher for Oneonta.
What Went Right: DJ Jones; 2 for 4 with a double.
What Went Wrong: Stranding runners; left 7 runners on base.
A Look Ahead: The Renegades will conclude the series with the Tigers on Tuesday night.
