Stone Crabs Week in Review: 8/27 to 9/2

The Charlotte Stone Crabs were 3-3 for the week. Charlotte officially clinched playoff off berth on Wednesday night as St. Lucie lost to Fort Myers, giving the Stone Crabs the second best overall record in the Florida State League south division, earning a wild card ticket to the playoffs. David Newmann was also named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week thanks to a complete game shut-out he threw on Saturday in Sarasota. The Stone Crabs conclude the regular season on Sunday at home against the Sarasota Reds, then the first round of the playoffs begin on Tuesday with game one against the Fort Myers Miracle being played at Charlotte Sports Park.
