The Game: The Bowling Green Hot Rods split the doubleheader by shutting out Lake County 3-0 in game two on Sunday evening. Shane Dyer was lights out in the contest, pitching a complete game shut-out to end the Hot Rods nine game losing streak.
The Hot Rods took the lead in the second inning. Julio Cedeno and Kyle Spraker delivered back to back singles to lead off the inning. Ty Morrison drove home the first run with a ground out to second to score Cedeno. Mayobanex Acosta then reached on a fielder’s choice with Spraker called out at the plate. Diogenes Luis drew a walk and advanced Acosta to second. Brett Nommensen then drove home the second run of the inning with an RBI single to score Acosta and give the Hot Rods a 2-0 lead.
Bowling Green would get an insurance run in the sixth inning. Kyle Spraker drew a two out walk to put a runner on. Spraker then stole second and advanced to third on the errant throw. Spraker would then score on a wild pitch to give the Hot Rods the 3-0 margin of victory.
Shane Dyer would earn the victory, pitching a complete game shut-out only allowing 4 hits while striking out 6.

A Look Ahead: The Hot Rods are off on Monday and return to action at home on Tuesday night against the Great Lakes Loons. Wilking Rodriguez (0-1, 3.18) will start for Bowling Green.
