Jeremy Hellickson Named International League Player of the Week
Jeremy Hellickson won his second player of the week award this season by earning the International League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 30. Hellickson dominated both of his starts during the week, throwing shut-outs in each appearance. The first came on Monday against the Pawtucket Red Sox when Hellickson took a perfect game into the seventh inning before issuing a walk. When the dust settled, Hellickson walked away with a one hit win in eight innings on the mound. His second shut-out of the week came on Sunday against the Rochester Red Wings when Hellickson threw a shut-out through seven innings and allowed only four hits in the game. He combined to throw a total of 15 innings during the week and allowed only 5 hits while striking out 12 and walking 1. On the season Hellickson is 8-2 with a 2.49 ERA in 11 starts.
