Joyce was hitting .314 with 38 hits, 13 doubles, 5 home runs and 20 RBI's in 121 at bats split between Durham and Charlotte. The call-up will be the third year that Joyce has been called upon to help the major league club. Joyce was the Detroit Tiger's 12th round pick from the 2005 draft.
Navarro has been with the Rays since 2007 and minus a brief rehab appearance in 2008, spent the entire time as the starting catcher for the Rays. He joined the club on July 27, 2006 as part of a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
