Ian Paxton has retired.
"He did a great job for us," Biscuits manager Billy Gardner said. "It's a thankless job, but he came to work every day and prepared like he was going to be in the game. That's how he went about his business."
The 26 year-old was signed as a non-drafted free agent on June 14, 2006, by Rays scout Brad Matthews. Here are his career batting stats:

Just can't say enough good things about Ian Paxton. He is a loyal, solid all-around guy with a strong, positive work ethic....always gives 110% whether playing on the field or catching in the pen. He's the kind of guy you want on your team and I'm sure TB's going to miss him not being in their organization. Definietly be a great candidate to coach, scout, etc....Anyway, the best of everything to him as he moves on...
