Durham Bulls OF Justin Ruggaino was called up by the Tampa Bay Rays to replace OF Gabe Kapler who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a hip injury. Ruggiano was hitting .291 with 8 doubles, 4 home runs and 19 in 44 games with the Bulls this season. Ruggiano was also recalled to the Rays for various stints in 2007 and 2008 for a total of 52 games with the big club.
