The Princeton Rays evened the series against the Pulaski Mariners by earning a 1-0 win on Tuesday night at Hunnicut Field. The Rays scored early in the pitching duel and held it till the end.
The only run of the game came in the first inning. Leonardo Reginatto doubled to left to lead off the inning. Kevin Kiermaier drove home the run with a triple to give the Rays a 1-0 lead.
The win was fueled by a shut-out performance by Braulio Lara. Lara surrendered 3 runs in 6 innings while striking out 6. Wade Broyles pitched the final three innings, allowing a hit while striking out 3 and earning the save.
The Rays and Mariners wrap up the series on Wednesday at Hunnicutt Field. Eliazer Suero (0-1, 6.23) will be making the start for the P-Rays.
