Bowling Green infielder Tyler Bortnick was named the Midwest League's Hitter of the Week for the week ending June 20. Bortnick was 9 for 21 during the week with 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 23 RBI's and 6 runs scored. He is now hitting .295 on the season with 19 doubles, 5 home runs, 22 RBI's and 18 stolen bases.
Bortnick was drafted in the 16th round of the 2009 Draft from Coastal Carolina. He received an all-star nomination in 2009 as a member of the Hudson Valley Renegades.
