Joe Cruz Named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week

Joe Cruz has been named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the week that ended on July 4. Cruz had two outings during the week, pitching 14 shut-out innings with 10 strikeouts. He is now 6-5 on the season with a 3.61 ERA in 15 starts.

Cruz was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in Round 30 of the 2007 Draft out of East Los Angeles Junior College.
