The Bowling Green Hot Rods have activated RHSP Tyree Hayes from the 7-day disabled list. He will be active for tonight’s game against the Dayton Dragons at 7:05 p.m. Hayes, 21, had a 2.35 ERA over 3 rehab starts with the GCL Rays. The Rays acquired him 8th round of the 2006 draft.
To make room on the roster for Hayes, catcher Dave Wendt has been transferred to the Hudson Valley Renegades. Wendt appeared in 3 games for the Hot Rods, getting 2 singles in 11 at bats. The Rays picked the 23 year-old in the 50th round of the 2009 draft.
The two moves leave the Hot Rods roster at 25 active players with 3 players on the disabled list (RHP Will Kline, RHP Jairo De La Rosa, 3B Julio Cedeno).
The Rays have released LHRP Genaro Galan, who was on the GCL Rays roster. The 22 year-old had a 12.46 ERA in 3 relief appearances this season. Galan was originally signed as a free agent on December 12, 2006, out of the Dominican. He pitched for the DSL Rays from 2007-2009 before coming stateside this year. For his career he had a 6.64 ERA in 62.1 innings with 67 strikeouts, but he also allowed 67 walks.
Doe's anyone know why Wendt has not played at Hudson Valley since his transfer back? Thank You "Gades Fan"
ReplyDeleteHe was still with the Hot Rods on 7/9. If he actually leaves it will leave B.G. short at catcher since Fransisco is playing quite a few games at first and Thomas is catching daily. Someone has to be in the bullpen. Look's like a cosmetic (paper move) only.
