Durham Bulls 9, Norfolk Tides 8
The Bulls winning streak extends to seven games. Angel Chavez was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBI's, including driving home the winning run in the ninth inning. Rocco Baldelli was 2 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBI's. Fernando Perez was 2 for 3. Chris Richard drove home two runs and Dioner Navarro added an RBI. Joe Bateman improved to 6-0 with the win, pitching a no-hit eighth. Jake McGee got his first pro save with a perfect ninth frame. The Bulls play Norfolk to close the road trip on Monday with Anuery Rodriguez getting the start.
Chattanooga Lookouts 2, Montgomery Biscuits 9
Nevin Ashley was 4 for 4 with a home run, 5 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Matt Spring was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Shawn O'Malley was 2 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Rashad Eldridge was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Emeel Salem also had an RBI. Paul Phillips pitched 5 innings allowing just 1 hit while striking out 4 in the win. The Biscuits open a series against Huntsville with Jeremy Hall making the start.
Palm Beach Cardinals 1, Charlotte Stone Crabs 6
Reid Fronk was 3 for 5 with a run scored and a stolen base. Isaias Velasquez was 2 for 5 with a home run. Ryan Royster was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Michael Sheridan was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Matt Hall was 2 for 4 with a home run. Frank De Los Santos pitched 7 innings and allowed 1 run on 5 hits for the win. Zach Quate pitched the final 2 scoreless frames with 3 K's. The Stone Crabs wrap up the series with Palm Beach on Monday,Shane Dyer returns from the DL and gets the start.
Bowling Green Hot Rods 11, South Bend Silver Hawks 7 (11 innings)
Ty Morrison was 3 for 6 with an RBI and 3 runs scored. Julio Cedeno was 3 for 6 with a double, 4 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Dustin Biell was 3 for 6 with a double and an RBI. David Wendt and Tomas Francisco were both 2 for 6 with an RBI. Robbi Estrada and Ryan Wiegand each drove home a run. Hot Rods pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts on the night. Alex Koronis earned the win. The series against South Bend continues Monday with Kyle Lobstein on the mound.
Hudson Valley Renegades 3, Lowell Spinners 5
Derek Dietrich was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and a run scored. Nick Schwaner was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Mayo Acosta had an RBI. James Patterson suffered the loss. The Renegades host Brooklyn on Monday.
Princeton Rays 2, Greeneville Astros 5
Jeff Malm was 3 for 4. Bryan Fogle was 2 for 4 with a double. Alejandro Olivares was 2 for 4. Hector Guevara had an RBI. Jacob Partridge pitched 5 shut-out innings with just 2 hits and 9 strikeouts. Shane Minks threw a no-hit inning with a strikeout. Victor Mateo was tagged for the loss, allowing 5 runs in 2 innings. Enny Romero takes the mound in Monday's game against Greeneville.
