Over the next few weeks I will recap the 2010 season of each affiliate. This week will focus on the overall season, next week will cover the hitting leaders and the final week will be pitching leaders. Like the week in reviews earlier in the season, each day will bring attention to a different affiliate as we work our way through the franchise. Today we take a look at the overall team stats of the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods struggled in their inaugural year in the Midwest League. They finished with an overall record below .500 at 61-78 which left them in sixth place in the division. The Hot Rods were in the bottom half of the league in most team stats with the lone bright spot being stolen bases which they led the league. Alex Colome, Chris Murrill and Wilking Rodriguez represented the Hot Rods in the Midwest League All-Star Game. The Rays organization also recognized Ty Morrison as the best baserunner in the organization while Tyler Bortnick was named the Hot Rods MVP.

*denotes 2010 Rays Prospects Top Prospect
With 7 top prospects on the roster you would think the performance would have been better.
ReplyDeleteA lot of future ML talent on the pitching staff. Unfortunately that doesn't always translate into victories at this level.
ReplyDeleteMorrison is a gifted athlete.
