  1. Hey~ unrelated but haven't seen anything posted about who was invited to instructs this year. Any surprises?

  2. I know a few that were invited to Instructs - Moore, Barnese, Cruz, Quate, Vogt, Bortnick and Shuman

  3. I have made a request three times for a roster and schedule through the Rays media office and have not seen anything.

As soon as I get something I will post it.

  4. I know these guys are in PC- I'm assuming they are there for instructs, but it could be rehab instead! Lobstein, Garcia, Thompson, Dietrich, Suarez, Rodriguez

  5. Thought they would have posted roster and schedule by now since Instructs end next Friday

  6. These lists are of limited value as they include guys that either (1) were on rehab (e.g., Pena, Joyce) (2) were promoted up late in the year (e.g., Bortnick) (3) did not accumulate many ABs in PC (e.g., Sweeney, Williams, O'Malley, and Spring) and/or (4) were just "passing through" (e.g., Anderson, Baldelli, Hawpe). As they are, these are apples-to-oranges comparisons. The full-season Stone Crabs were Beckham, Vogt, Fronk, Sheridan, Velasquez, Jeffries, Kang, and Scelfo should be removed. Sexton, Murrill and Wrigley should also be included as they spent a considerable part of their season in PC. This would be a much better indication of who produced for the Stone Crabs this past year.

  9. Like I said in the Durham post, this was the easiest way to list the players. There is no clear cut way to draw the line...you use official minimum established by MiLB, you lose a buch of talent. Take Wrigley for example, he did really well at both levels and split the year almost 50/50, he deserves to get credit for his performance at A+ and AA. But if you min AB or IP, he gets missed at both levels. So this seemed to be the best way to do it. That was why I did the top 10 at each category instead of top 5 like originally planned.

Either way you split it, somebody is not gonna like it..thats just the way it is.

With this topic coming up serveral times in the past few days, I was thinking about doing an organization overall look like I did at midseason. Combine the overal stats for minor leagues and compare them to the stats leader from the Rays. Expect to see that in the near future once my schedule settles down a bit.

  10. Could just do two lists, or tables, for the rate stats. One for qualifiers, another for others (guys who played but not enough).

I can do the formatting if you send me the data.

    Anyway, I enjoy these Jim.
