Omar Luna was 3 for 4 with a run scored. Chris Richard was 2 for 4. JJ Furmaniak, Justin Ruggiano and Fernando Perez had RBI's. Darin Down provided 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief with 4 strikeouts. Jake McGee took the loss. Ramon Ortiz will start on Saturday night as the Bulls face Norfolk.
Montgomery Biscuits 0, Jacksonville Suns 3
Mike Folli was 2 for 3. Jose Ruis, Matt Fields and Shawn O'Malley provided the other base knocks for the Biscuits. The Biscuits stranded 7 runners on base in the shut-out loss. Jeremy Hall was charged with the loss. The Biscuits look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they play Jacksonville again on Saturday with Alex Torres making the start.
Bradenton Marauders 3, Charlotte Stone Crabs 5
Stephen Vogt was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, a home run and 3 RBI's. Jake Jefferies was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Tyler Bortnick also drove home a run. The Stone Crabs picked up four stolen bases on the nights (Isaias Velasquez, Tim Beckham, Ryan Royster and Bortnick). Alex Colome made his Stone Crabs debut, pitching 4 innings and allowing 1 run on 5 hits with 8 strikeouts. Marquis Fleming picked up the win and improved to 5-0. Neil Schenk provided 2 innings of shut-out relief and 4 strikeouts. The Stone Crabs play Bradenton in the middle game of the series with Deivis Mavarez making a spot start.
Bowling Green Hot Rods 7, Dayton Dragons 1
Hot Rods sweep the series against Dayton. David Wendt was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Burt Reynolds was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Ty Morrison was 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored. Kyle Spraker delivered a three run homer. Albert Suarez pitched 5 shut-out innings, allowing just 1 hit with 4 strikeouts to earn the win. Tyree Hayes got the save. The Hot Rods begin their final series of the season on the road against Great Lakes on Saturday, Merrill Kelly will start.
Lowell Spinners 11, Hudson Valley Renegades 3
Chris Winder had the only multiple hit game for the Renegades, going 2 for 4 with a run scored. Scott Lawson drove home 2 runs. Steve Tinoco also drove home a run. The Renegades were 3 for 11 with runners in scoring position. Nate Garcia took the loss. The Renegades host Lowell again on Saturday
