Louisville Bat 2, Durham Bulls 1Bulls trail Bats 2-1 in the series. JJ Furmaniak was 3 for 4 with a run scored. Chris Richard had a double. RJ Swindle pitched provided 2 1/3 innings on no-hit relief with 4 strikeouts. The Bulls were just 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10 runners on base. Alex Cobb was charged with the loss despite striking out 10 hitters in 6 2/3 innings. The Bulls try to battle off elimination in game four Saturday, Paul Phillips will get the start.
Tampa Yankees 5, Charlotte Stone Crabs 2The Stone Crabs trail 1-0 in series. Jake Jefferies was 2 for 3 with a double and a home run. Matt Hall also had a solo home run. Stone Crabs pitchers gave up a combined 11 walks, 5 of them issued by starter Deivis Mavarez who was charged with the loss. Jake Thompson will start game two on Saturday.
