With the loss the Biscuits were eliminated from the playoff race. Henry Wrigley was 2 for 5 with an RBI. Drew Anderson was 2 for 5 with a home run. Craig Albernaz was 2 for 4 with a home run. Mike Folli was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Rashad Eldridge drove home two runs. Dane De La Rosa was the losing pitcher. The Biscuits play Jacksonville on Sunday with Alex Cobb on the hill.
Bradenton Marauders 4, Charlotte Stone Crabs 2
Tyler Bortnick was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Greg Sexton drove home the other run. Stephen Vogt reached base three times via single, walk and hit by pitch. Scott Shuman made his debut, pitching 2 1/3 no-hit innings with 3 strikeouts. Michael Jarman took the loss. The Stone Crabs conclude the regular season on Sunday against Bradenton, Jake Thompson will start the finale.
Bowling Green Hot Rods 5, Great Lakes Loons 7
Hot Rods had four hits from four different players. Dustin Biell had a two run homer. Kyle Spraker had a solo home run. Tomas Francisco and Julio Cedeno also drove home a run each. Merrill suffered the loss. Yorman Mayora starts Sunday's game against Great Lakes.
Lowell Spinners 2, Hudson Valley Renegades 6
Brian Bryles was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Steve Tinoco was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Derek Dietrich was 2 fir 4 with a double. Diogenes Luis drove home 3 runs. Mayo Acosta also had an RBI. Robert Dickmann pitched 3 no-hit innings with 2 strikeouts to earn the win. JR Betts-Robinson provided 2 shut-out innings of relief. The Renegades conclude the season on Sunday against Lowell.
