Minor League Baseball has begun the voting process for their 2010 award winners. Fans are able to cast a vote for their choice for Best Starter, Best Hitter, Best Reliever, Best Game and Best Team. Voting for the first award has already started and the last award concludes in November. Visit the 2010 MiLBY Awards page to cast a vote.
The first poll open in the 2010 Starting Pitcher of the Year and is open until Monday October 11. The Rays nominations are; Jeremy Hellickson (AAA), Joe Cruz (A+), Matt Moore (A+) and Enny Romero (SS).
Hellickson dominated the International League before being promoted to Tampa Bay at the end of the season. He was 12-3 with a 2.45 ERA and 123 strikeouts in 21 starts with the Bulls in 2010. His performance led to being named the International League's Most Valuable Pitcher for the season as well as selections to the Future Team and Post Season All-Star Team in addition to being named Baseball America's Minor League Player of the Year.
Cruz finished the season second in the Florida State League in wins by going 13-6 with a 2.85 ERA and 131 strikeouts in 25 starts for the Stone Crabs. He was a Post Season All-Star for 2010.
Moore was the minor league strikeout king, leading the minors with 208 strikeouts on the year. Matt finished the season 6-11 with a 3.36 ERA and 208 strikeouts in 26 starts. He was a four time Pitcher of the Week award winner as well as making the Post Season All-Star Team for the Florida State League.
Romero was the ace of the Princeton staff before a late season promotion to Hudson Valley. Enny suffered just one loss in 14 starts, finishing the year with a 5-1 record, 1.94 ERA and 76 strikeouts combined between 13 starts at Princeton and 1 start at Hudson Valley.
