Alex Cobb pitched six scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk and striking out five. J.P. Howell struck out two in a scoreless inning, and Jake McGee got a six-out save with four strikeouts. The Bulls' lone run came in the first inning on a Justin Ruggiano home run. Russ Canzler, Leslie Anderson, and Jose Lobaton each singled.
Chattanooga Lookouts 5, Montgomery Biscuits 2
Chris Archer allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four. Marquis Fleming and Paul Phillips combined for three scoreless innings, and Zach Quate allowed a run in the 9th. Cody Cipriano had two of the Biscuits' three hits, including a home run, with Stephen Vogt picking up the other.
Charlotte Stone Crabs 5, Brevard County Manatees 2
Tyler Bortnick, Brett Nommensen, Jake Jefferies, Mayobanex Acosta, and Chris Murrill all had multiple hits, with Jefferies and Acosta each driving in two. Drew Leary started and allowed a run in four innings. Sergio Espinosa relieved and pitched four innings, also allowing a run. Josh Satow got the save.
Bowling Green Hot Rods 6, Fort Wayne TinCaps 3
Phil Wunderlich hit a tie-breaking three-run home run in the top of the 9th, finishing the game 3-5. Cody Rogers also homered while Kevin Kiermaier, Kyle Holloway, and Hector Guevara had two hits apiece. Victor Mateo allowed three runs in five innings, striking out five. Jimmy Patterson pitched the final four innings and struck out seven.
