Durham Bulls 7, Louisville Bats 4
Alex Cobb allowed a solo home run in the first inning, but that was it. He struck out seven and walked one over seven innings, allowing the one run on seven hits. Russ Canzler and Jose Lobaton each two hits including a home run (Lobaton's was a grand slam). Felipe Lopez also had two hits. Desmond Jennings went 1-4 and Brandon Guyer took an 0-4.
Montgomery Biscuits 8, Birmingham Barons 7
The Biscuits put four on the board in the eighth inning and four more in the ninth for the comeback win. Cole Figueroa was 3-4 with two doubles and a walk and Tim Beckham and Daniel Mayora had two hits each. Marquis Fleming pitched 2.2 scoreless relief innings, and Matt Bush had a perfect ninth for his first save of the year.
Charlotte Stone Crabs 6, Clearwater Threshers 1
Adam Liberatore made the fill-in start due to all the injuries in the Crabs rotation, and he allowed one run in four innings. Sergio Espinosa struck out seven in four scoreless innings in relief. Tyler Bortnick was 3-5 and Hak-Ju Lee went 2-4 with a walk. Greg Sexton and Anthony Scelfo also had two hits apiece.
West Michigan Whitecaps 6, Bowling Green Hot Rods 5
Braulio Lara started and allowed four runs (three earned) in five innings, striking out three and walking one. Steve Hiscock struck out five in two innings in relief. Robby Price was perfect at the plate, going 3-3 with two walks. Derek Dietrich and Nick Schwaner each had two hits.
