Desmond Jennings was 3-5 including a walk-off single. Justin Ruggiano went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and two RBIs, plus a stolen base. J.P. Howell pitched a scoreless inning of relief including a pick-off at second base in his first rehab appearance for the Bulls.
Montgomery Biscuits 5, Carolina Mudcats 3
Chris Archer walked six and allowed three runs in 4.2 innings, striking out just two. Marquis Fleming got the win with two scoreless relief innings. Matt Bush struck out two in 1.1 scoreless, and Zach Quate notched the save. Tim Beckham went 2-3 with two walks, while Nevin Ashley and John Shelby each homered and drove in two.
Jupiter Hammerheads 2, Charlotte Stone Crabs 0
Hak-Ju Lee, Mark Thomas, Greg Sexton, Mayo Acosta and Anthony Scelfo got the only five hits for the Crabs. Adam Liberatore pitched four scoreless innings in relief of spot starter Drew Leary. Scott Shuman struck out two and didn't walk any in a scoreless inning of relief.
Bowling Green Hot Rods 9, Lake County Captains 8
Derek Dietrich hit a grand slam to help the Hot Rods rally from a 7-1 deficit. Enny Romero lasted just two innings, allowing seven runs but just one earned when an error kept the second inning alive for Lake County. He struck out four and walked two. Omar Bencomo pitched four scoreless frames. Phil Wunderlich hit a solo home run in the 9th to break an 8-8 tie; he was 3-5 on the night.
