The Midwest League released their 2011 postseason all-star team yesterday and two Hot Rods were named to the squad. The pitching duo of CJ Riefenhauser and closer Chris Rearick were the first Hot Rods in franchise history to make the Midwest League postseason team.
Riefenhauser was 6-5 with a 2.31 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 18 starts before being promoted to the Stone Crabs in August. He was one of the top lefty's in the Midwest League and a member of the midseason all-star squad.
Rearick dominated the league hitters as the Hot Rods closer this season, holding opposing hitters to an average of just .159. He was 7-2 on the year while converting 18 of 23 saves this season.
