I like that. Fuld as 4th, Vogt and Zobrist and Sean Rodriguez can fill as needed (Guyer could fill in in CF too). AAA guys for emergencies and injuries.
ReplyDeleteHeard yesterday somewhere (MLBTR?) that Rays may keep Upton for 2012 and then let him go as FA after since they can't find equal value for the $7 million they will pay him. Could be true, what player or players are available as free agents that they could sign for $7m that would be better than BJ? Burrell cost $8m over 2 years, and I don't think the Rays would want to spend the Upton $7 more than just 2012. So $7m one year players available would either stink or be guys who had bad years/injuries who want to reestablish their value and become free agents again, so lottery tickets. Depends if some team really wants Upton in the offseason and makes an offer that knocks the Rays socks off.
Time to give Robbie Price a promotion?
