It's been a little slow around these parts with the Rays making their run and the minor league season over, but the fun in the desert begins today with the Surprise Saguaros opening at Scottsdale 6:35 local time (I believe that's 8:35 eastern but don't hold me to that). Again, the Rays prospects playing are:
SS Tim Beckham
OF Mikie Mahtook
2B Tyler Bortnick
RHP Shane Dyer
RHP Marquis Fleming
LHP Adam Liberator
RHP Kirby Yates
Who are you most looking forward to seeing stats/scouting reports from?
I don't think I'm particularly unique in saying I'm most interested in Mahtook, followed by Beckham.
ReplyDeleteFYI, none of the games are on radio, and only the championship and Rising Stars Game are on TV. But you can follow them online at mlb.com.
ReplyDeleteAnd after Maddon's comments about Howell today, I think I'd rather follow the kids in AZ than the playoffs anyway.
Tyler Bortnick's a great guy, and he can juggle!
ReplyDeleteDon't believe me? Check it out:

Bortnick wont make it past triple A if lucky.. he also cant juggle anything close to derek dietrich...
ReplyDeleteAre they gonna move Beckham to second?
ReplyDeleteI think they are show casing Bortnick for other teams?
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:43 - Bortnick played exclusively 2B for Charlotte this year (okay, he DH'd twice)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing Adam Liberatore. He is a big lefty with a nice arm. I know I have clocked him at 94mph this year. He will play extremely well and will become a Rays top prospect in the very near future.
