Syracuse Chiefs 4, Durham Bulls 2 (Game One)
The Bulls gave up three runs early in the second inning and could not recover as they lost game one of Tuesday's doubleheader. The Bulls managed just three hits in the game with two of them coming from Kyle Hudson. Jim Paduch suffered the loss for the Bulls. Romulo Sanchez threw a no-hit inning of relief.
Durham Bulls 2, Syracuse Chiefs 1 (Game Two)
The Bulls bounced back from the loss in game one to win the second game of the doubleheader 2-1. They found themselves in an early 1-0 hole but pushed across two runs in the fifth to win the game. Craig Albernaz drove home both runs with a two run single in the fifth. Chris Archer picked up the win. Dane De La Rosa struck out 2 of 3 batters faced in the final frame to notch the save.
Montgomery Biscuits 6, Chattanooga Lookouts 1
Shane Dyer turned in another great start as he helped steer the Biscuits to victory over the Lookouts. That helped the offense get going and provide some run support to ensure the win. Henry Wrigley was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Emeel Salem had a triple and 2 RBI's. Mark Thomas also had a triple and an RBI. Kyeong Kang had a double and an RBI. Dyer picked up the win and improved to 4-2 on the season. Frank De Los Santos pitched 2 no-hit innings of relief while Alex Koronis provided a shut-out inning.
Daytona Cubs 12, Charlotte Stone Crabs 4
The Stone Crabs found themselves in a huge hole early in a 12-4 loss to the Cubs. After retiring the first four hitters in a row, the Cubs offense got to Grayson Garvin, something that no one has been able to do yet this season. By the time it was said and done, Garvin departed allowing seven runs in 1 1/3 innings. But it didn't stop there, the Cubs offense went right after Nate Garcia, tagging him for four runs. The Stone Crabs found themselves in an 11-0 hole by the end of the third inning. The Stone Crabs were able to generate a few runs. They collected four doubles in the game, pushing their streak of consecturive games with an extra base hit to 8. Hector Guevara was the only multi-hit performance for the Stone Crabs.
Lake County Captains 4, Bowling Green Hot Rods 3
Despite holding the lead for much of the afternoon, the Hot Rods gave up three runs in the top of the eighth to drop the series finale against the Captains by the score of 4-3. Four Hot Rods hitters enjoyed a multi-hit peformance in the loss. Drew Vettleson was 3 for 5 with a double. Jeff Malm was 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. Joel Caminero was 2 for 4 with a double. Jake Hager also contributed with 2 hits. Jason McEachern was charged with the loss. Austin Hubbard provided two scoreless innings of relief to wrap up the game.
