Speaking as a former catcher, when Gimenez was up at the beginning of the year I thought he had tremendous blocking skills. This is usually the case with converted catchers as they have fresher legs. I sat behind the dish for 6 years, playing year round, before I even got to college. By the time I was a Junior my knees were shot. I think we see that with Molina. Gimenez looks solid defensively, he frames pitches well and I'm sure his game calling is a work in progress. How do scouts feel about him? Can he hit like this in the bigs if he's given the chance? I think this system might be looking up in a couple years with Segovia, Hernandez and Gimenez in the mix.
ReplyDeletePlease add to Hudson Valley's review of last night- Leadoff hitter and CF Marty Gantt- 3 for 4 plus a walk and a run scored.
ReplyDeleteQuick question - look down under the Hot Rods on the sidebar. I added a thing to have all the batters and pitchers stats, updated every night. Is that something you like? Do you want it for all the teams? I can't put too many stats, not enough room, too narrow. But if you like it I can add it for the other teams. Let me know, working on some other things for the site too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could just post a link to a different page, and have more extensive stats on that page for each team. It would be nice to have easily accessible stats.
DeleteYeah, that's actually really useful. If you can, please, do that for all the teams.
